Just got the DVX100b from EVS and wanted to test it out.

When I saw the beautiful footage disjecta captured and I wanted to do something like that for my test video. It was shot in 24pa in a park in Costa Mesa CA. Check it out. I would love to hear some comments on it both good and bad. It will only help me better myself with the camera. Thanks inadvance!

I really liked the music. Very up-beat and pleasant. You had some decent rack focusing going on with the the plant and the stream in the background. That was a nice time lapse shot at the end with the trees and clouds; looked good!

Now, what I didn't like about it was that it seemed like 60% of the shots were overexposed. It seemed like some of the color was being dropped. Might want to be careful with your exposure in the future. Of course, look into a polarizer filter if you don't have one already.

Not a bad start though. Keep at it! :)

Thanks Lawsuit Boy!

Yea, i noticed the overexposer when I was editing. When I was stooding I was still playing around with the ND filter and the iris so I think that is where I went wrong. But I am going to get a polariazer filter soon for that very reason. Thanks for the comment.

Try using with your Zebra on to help you out with those overexposures.

Since the exposure was already mentioned, I'll stay away from that. But I do have a question. I understood that the 100B was unable to do Time Lapse effects. Is this incorrect? Because behold, Time lapse in this video. Nice one too by the way!

For the time lapse I just put the camera on a tripod and let it run for a few minutes and then cranked up the speed in FCP.

Thanks for the comment UncleBenji1977!

People have already hit the exposure, so I'll move on to other things. I didn't like that the first 40 seconds had mostly static shots. Nothing moving in the frame. While the shots were usually nicely framed there wasn't anything really engaging in it. To me they were just nice still shots. As things got moving things got much better. I liked the depth of field usage, especially the plants with the stream behind them at about 0:54. Like the ducks, but be careful with the pans/tilts. A little jerky there.

Does Soundtrack let you compose music, or just create it from loops? I haven't heard much about it. Anything comparable on a PC? I'd like to be able to compose music from samples, not just loops. Sorry, shouldn't hijack like that.

I just got my 100b this week too. Gonna take the kids out to the playground on Saturday and follow them around and shoot some tests.

Good stuff. Experiment and have fun.

I was hoping the bees would make an appearance by the end, though.

I like some of the compositions - is this stuff C.C.ed? It looks overexposed but you should be able to print down your exposure to get some of the color and tightness back in the image. Keep posting!
