Input needed: Mixed bag of cameras on multi-cam shoot...

Have got an extended shoot coming up utilizing an HPX-170, at least two Canon 5Ds cams, a Canon XHA1 and even some Flip HD cams with wide angle lenses thrown into the mix, all on the same set. Ultimate exhibition -- beyond Web -- is TV. Am trying to minimize severe brain damage & rendering in the timeline where at all possible when the footage is brought in. Will use FCS on this project.

My understanding is that the 5Ds don't have anywhere near the shooting format options that the HPX does, or even the A1 does. The Flips, well, that's simply 1080i footage that's being thrown in for effect.

Figuring that the bulk of the A-cam footage will come from the 5Ds (possibly shooting 24p), what format would be best to set the HPX and A1 to? One thing I do know about the HPX is that it'll be used primarily as the "overcrank" camera.

Have studied this thread, http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?102377-720p-VS-1080i-Which-one, and am still uncertain of which way to go. Very much welcome suggestions.

(Note: might need to cross-post this.)

Conform everything to ProRes. Try to shoot as many cameras at 24p as you can...

Thanks, Noah. My thinking, too, but still have a feeling I'm overlooking something simple and glaring. Probably just over-think.

Appreciate your input.
