Here's a recent monologue video I did for an organization I work with.
Second video here: http://youtu.be/iWuaBMdgS_s

And the diagram:
diagram_medium.png

The key light was a 650 arri fresnel about 2 feet away from the subject at 75%
The fill was also a 650 arri fresnel about 4 feet away at 50%
both backlights were 300 arri fresnel's 10 feet away around 100%

T2i. Helios(M42) 55mm and Nikon 28mm - ISO 400, Shutter 1/50th, 24fps, around f/2.2 to 2.6

Cut in FCP, minor CC with After Effects. Feedback welcome!

I like it, you shouldnt have stretched the logo, but use the type tool to keep it in vector form which would result in it looking smoother.

nice work. :)

I think the shots where the guy's waist is shown makes him look too thick as opposed to tall - universally, a thinning look is more appealing. Did you use the 28mm or 50mm on the waist-up shot? The shots where only his chest-and-up are shown makes him look more equilateral. It's not really what body parts are shown, but more of the focal length I believe. Also, this guy has a naturally bulging skull shape - I would place less emphasis on the rim lighting in this case, or I would position the rim lights to shine just a bit differently on his skull, so that the front of his face looks more equal with the sides - though, with his particular look, this may have been the best you could accomplish. There is so much emphasis placed on the sides of his skull, combined with the not-so-flattering focal lengths, that it indeed gives a a bit of a strange look. You want to make sure that all your subjects end up looking very accessible on the screen - this subject in this video however seems to look intimidating in a way, yet for this message, you'd want him to look soft, mature, and caring. Even a white background as opposed to black may have done better for the purpose.

Oh yeah, I would also do a different sound technique. You really want the voice to sound in the listener's ears with a message like this, instead of having the guy sound as though he's talking from far away. You can't understand him well.
