This is the first job I used the F35 on after taking my time to sort out the package. For whatever reason I was really quite confident shooting with it despite not really running it through its paces other than little practical tests around my home. Man o man, the combo with O7Q+ is really seamless. Loved being able to show clients what we got by scrubbing quickly with the touch interface. Really digging the motion cadence the CCD provides- seeing perfect parallel lines whooshing by during the ride alongs felt right and I basically never want to go back to CMOS ever again.
Some details:
Sony CineAlta v2 primes
12bit DPX
sLog
F900 color space
Graded in resolve with MacGregor's sLog-709 lut on output node
This was also my first time extensively grading 12bit DPXs. What a different ballgame coming from slapping lipstick on a pig with comparatively brittle 8bit C300 footage. Such a bizarre feeling to keep pushing sliders as far as I want and seeing practically no destruction. Almost chemical in a way. Kept all the ambiently lit nighttime event crap at 400iso and was able to push exposure no problem. Let me know what you think. I also did the mix.
Incredibly grateful for this board and community to give me the tools and resources to pull the trigger on the F35. Truly a joy to shoot with and grade later. So thanks!
