C100: Inexpensive producer monitor

I need a 24" producer monitor. Nothing expensive just so the producer can see the shot during an interview. Consumer model is fine. Most LCD TV's handle 24P in a strange way so I wanted to see if anyone found a inexpensive one that can work with HDMI in 24P from the C100 or even the GH4

Don`t have a monitor brand for you, but since it sounds like you would run a cable, take a look at the Nyrius Aries Pro wireless HDMI transmitter. Here´s a thread about it on the C100:

Nice! This is for sit down interviews. If it had a DC external power supply I can get my guy to wire up a AB battery too. Looks like need to head over to the Fry's and see what they got.

Hey Erik,

How'd your shoulder surgery go? Left or right? I just got a steroid shot in my left.

I took my C100 to the big box store and plugged its HDMI into about a dozen, starting at 17". The aliasing in these under $300 models was just terrible. I thought you have the 17" Panny?

That one is the stations. Great monitor but I cant afford it.
I'm going to do the same thing you did and try out several at the store. So I assume you couldn't find one that looked good enough then?

Shoulder is doing so much better now & yes it was the right shoulder. That made shooting really tough. Took six months and lots of PT.

Well, the smaller the monitor the better the image looks but I could not find a consumer set that wouldn't cause clients to say, "Why does it look like this?". That's the problem I'm having with the DP6. So if I was to buy a consumer monitor ala Best Buy, Frys, etc. I would have to tell them just to use it for composition.

Earlier in this forum some folks discussed this so if you do a search you may find the monitors that were favored.

I use a 24in Samsung works great. Think I paid $150.00 at Costco. I was shooting a job at 25FPS and had no problems

I got an LG IPS234. Cheap. But it had HDMI, it's power input is under 19V, it is extremely light and has a Vesa Mount. Therefore, I can stick it on a VESA adapter for a light stand, and also strap battery and cheap HDMI transmitter on it. The whole the whole package is relatively cheap compared to all of the rest of my equipment, but corporate clients are more impressed by having their own monitor than anything else I seem to do, so it seems to be more than worthwhile to set it up.

I just stuck a Tekkeon MP3450 on the back of mine. It also powers my cheap wireless HDMI receiver at the same time through the HDMI port. It only lasts about half an hour, so I mostly run it plugged in to keep the charge up for those times when I actually need it to run on battery.

I have two of those. I'll test it out. Thanks. I would like to get more than a half an hour.
