Hello!

I'm a student in a film class and our assignment has been to come up with the best way to multi-mount some peripherals on a canon 5d redrock follow focus rig. The accessories include a zoom h4n audio recorder, a rode shotgun mic, a monitor, a light panel, and a wireless sennheiser receiver.

Might you have any creative suggestions?

So far I have come across these diyish methods:

and finally:

what would you suggest? what is the best method/methods?

thank you in advance,

Did anybody look at 9shooter? Who the heck shoots on a 5d with that tiny canon mounted below it? AND for that matter, who has ever seen a girl that looks like that shooting dressed like they are?

somebody tell me where that world is and i will pack a bag tonight.

I would try to attach it to your shoulder rig as apposed to the hot shoe. Might snap off if you bump into anything which will cost you repairs and down time for your camera.

that looks like a night mare to work with.

I personally mount my h4n on the back shoulder part of my rig, i guess you could double hotshoe the lamp and mic but even then, i dunno. Id rather just stick the mic up there and off camera the light.

Can you look at your h4n audio levels while shooting if it's mounted on the back shoulder part of your rig?

What do you consider a nightmare about it?

There have been many deleted posts in this thread. Please stay on topic.

thanks for cleaning it up!

in the spirit of saving money, does anyone know where i can get something like this:

http://store.redrockmicro.com/Catalog/DSLRClamps/microMount
microMount with microSpud

for less than $67?

thanks!

is it just me, or do camera brackets seem rather expensive? in researching this it seems it would be quite easy to spend 2x the money on the rig that one spends on the cameras/mics/audio recorders/lights/etc.
