INDISystem Notice

I ordered a indiSlider mini a few months back. Paid for it and didn't hear anything for 2 weeks.

Sent an email. It shipped the next day.

How do you like your slider now that you've gotten it? I guess if it's at all decent, then it's worth the wait considering the price.

Just wanted to follow up...

I made 1 call last Friday to Tim, he picked up right away and promised me my UltraCompact would ship on Tuesday in time for me to get it today. Lo and behold, package showed as shipped on Tuesday, and I now have it here in my hands. The condition of the unit is excellent, no scratched or marred up "used" looking surfaces as others have experienced in the past. It looks as though it was built, put together to test, and then packaged.

I honestly have no idea how there is such a contrast of different customer experiences with Indisystem. All I can say is that if had never read any forums, this transaction would never have raised an eyebrow for me. As a matter of fact, it has left me with a great faith in Tim's company and his workmanship. I would not hesitate to do business again with Indisystem.

I think the disparity of experience is due to the overwhelming response they are getting to their products. If you order on a good week, no worries. If they're swamped, you have a delay.

Regarding the forums and their place in pointing out the problems...well, that my friend is like the sword of Damocles. While it's true I might not be so concerned with my order had I never read this thread, on the other hand, I ALSO would never have found their website or products without these same groups. So, they have to take the good with the bad, just as we all must.

Lastly, even without the forums, I would be concerned if I had placed two orders on the same day, was billed for both, but only had ONE show up on my account page as an actual order, despite the payment. Also, given the professional appearance of their website and the ease of the ordering process, one would hope that their response via the same medium through which they take the orders, would be somewhat better.

I agree with you on all points. There's no question that the influx of business has caused a delay. I suppose I ordered on a good week! I'm sure the hired help is contributing to the faster turnaround as well, regardless of the order volume.

Also, when I mentioned that I wouldn't have known any different had I not checked here, I meant only to highlight what a trouble free transaction it was. I would certainly be concerned as well if I had experienced what you did. I find the internet and forums to be invaluable when making a buying decision. I tend to scrutinize my potential purchases for hours and days on end on forums like these!

Sadly, I ended up not being able to hang on to the rig, had to sell it due to the shoot falling through and me not having the money to justify the purchase otherwise. Shame...it was a nice unit.

Luckily for me I only live about an hour away from him so I can run up there to pick up something or he'll drop it off at my house when he comes into town to pick up powder coating. Maybe looking at getting the lighter weight slider to pack over longer distances than my current slider.

Well folks, I never got a response and my second order never showed under my account on their website....and yet, my orders shipped today via FedEx 2 day. So, I guess alls well that ends well. I'll post again once I receive the goods and have had a chance to evaluate them.

since my ultracompact didnt come with any instructions and i broke my rig assembling it...

be careful not to turn the rods AT ALL when the screws are tightened on them, it will reduce the friction on the clamps and over time, the rods will be able to rotate...NOT GOOD. i wish tim warned us about this, now my ultracompact is useless.

Well, given that there were no instructions included, I'd give it a shot and plead that case. You're not an engineer, so you shouldn't have to figure out how to assemble someone else's product without instructions.

Good news! Everything arrived today and works perfectly. The build quality is excellent for the price, no doubt about that. Not having any instructions had us scratching our heads for a moment, but, it you've ever worked with rails and a follow focus, you'll figure it out.

So, while I would've liked better communication, I'm very happy with the end results. I'd recommend their gear to ANY price conscious shooter out there.
