Its new, i used it just once. Now the camera doesn't recognize it anymore. My brother paid $200.00 shipping for this and i paid another $200.00 just to get it here in the Philippines. :'(

Have you tried formatting the card in the camera? If you just delete files instead of properly formatting the card and creating an empty P2 directory structure, you'll get the message you are seeing.

If you have a laptop with a PCMCIA/PCCard slot, download the P2 Format Station software from Panasonic's P2 Support Desk. That will let you run diagnostics on the card, as well as reformat it.

I still got the problem with the p2 card, I reformat it in my IBM X41 via PCMCIA card slot and I renamed it as p2b before formatting. I will try to format it in other notebooks. Thanks! I really appreciate your help.

I believe the advice is format the card in the camera, not on a computer.

Have you tried that?

Insert without write protect.

go to MCR mode, and locate the format command in the menus.

I already tried that the hvx cannot see the p2. Still no success, I think the 16gb p2 card is defective. But I will try to look for some friend’s notebook and format it there.

I know this is an old thread but came across this problem and cannot seem to find a solution. The issue is with an old card that I've been using for about 3 years along with 9 other cards, all 16gb r-series cards. the cameras are the same ones that I've been using for 3 years. Any advice?
