GH2 In Production For a Feature Film Shooting on GH2

I'll probably go down the exact same path, to be honest. Maybe with a GH3 instead just to have the extra DR (always scares me), but no matter which I'll have to either shoot Anamorphic or Zeiss Ultra Primes with a combination of SLR Magic for extremely run and gun or risky situations.

Hit us with some video when you can!

I will definitely put together a little teaser in the next couple of weeks and get it online. We're doing some slowmotion underwater shots that I am waiting to shoot before cutting anything together.

Anamorphic on the GH3 sounds excellent. Haven't shot anamorphic on the GH2 at all. Which anamorphic lenses do you like?

The last one I did we shot Ultra Primes with a Hot Rod PL adapter. Used the Tokina when we stole locations. Here are some frame grabs: http://resoundproductions.smugmug.com/Resound-Productions/Mickey-and-Laura/

Skeleton crew and only 12 days to shoot 107 pages! Except for a couple of the night exteriors we were under 1000 watts at all times. Got a ton of use out of a china ball on a boom pole!

Trailer for the other GH2 feature this year: https://vimeo.com/40268487 (password: "odubs")

I did one in between on the C300, and have a couple coming up next year that will either be Alexa or Epic. The GH2 is still my pick when working with a tiny budget and a tiny crew, though I love working with the C300 and I LOVE the image out of the Alexa.

That trailer looks amazing and love the still shots from your new motion picture as well. Is that movie finished, anywhere I can see it, rent it, buy it?
Thanks

Nice trailer! I actually think I saw this link before... Love the opening shot - nice work!

This coming weekend will be the heaviest few days of shooting and all in a single location so I am considering renting some zeiss primes for a few days...

Be careful renting lenses, I made a mistake renting some expensive lenses for my GH2 and they were so sharp I ended up reverting to some of my cheaper lenses.
Just a heads up which I'm more than sure you know but also for the community. Furthermore if your first movie is done and available for purchase, please Pm

thanks

They make video camneras that can shoot on film? I want one!

A little cofused by what you say.

For me 35mm does not look at all life like, people are all sunburnt to some extent,i know most love the parallel world look it gives but for me modern tv productions now made on video are better than i have ever seen.

Which glass was too sharp for the GH2? I think Panasonic lenses are too "enhanced", as in software to hardware communication, but I definitely prefer the look of naturally tack sharp glass on the camera. Zeiss Ultra Primes for example.

If you've got a line on something that's as sharp as that and non-electronic in the still world do let me know!

Steven Bills - No more screenshots yet - I've been on a different shoot the past couple of days. Will try to post some more before this weekend, and should have quite a few by early next week.

Thanks! We go back to set tomorrow for 4 days, so I should have loads more footage soon.
