In camera color balance, AWB+flat picture style(s)?

Hi,
Most experienced DSLR experts recommend getting your color balance as accurate as possible in camera, and not rely on fixing it in post. Right now I am using AWB + a custom flat picture style.

A) Is AWB accurate enough?

B) Is it better to guestimate the color temperature and use one of the presets in camera (tungsten, sunny, shade, etc)?

Or
C) Should I be carrying a grey card and-or a color temperature meter with me a nd set a custom color balance every time I shoot?

Unless you're shooting RAW stills (where you can change the white balance afterwards), never ever shoot with AWB. The reason being that your colours will shift as your shot changes. I personally like to set custom Kelvin temperatures to get the look I want, and in tricky mixed lighting conditions I'll do a custom white balance with a grey card. But yeah, using the presets isn't bad too if the lighting situation is straight forward.
