C100: Impulz Luts Workflow

Hi All,

Hope you are well.

I am interested to hear about the impulz Lut Workflow.

I am mainly shooting WDR and a little C LOG intersted to hear peoples workflow.

Thanks any tips would be great.

Step 1 (optional): Run Dark Energy or Neat Video noise removal
Step 2: Apply corresponding ".CIN" LUT based on your chosen gamma (WDR or CLOG) - this is to emulate negative film scan
Step 3: Apply cineon conversion LUT - this is to emulate release print (most release prints nowadays are Kodak 2383)
Step 4 (optional): Add your own grading for refinement

do you use the FPE option?

So you choose Kodak Ektar.cin and then add the cineon lut?

You can experiment with it, there is no set rules

You don't, FPE comes with all sorts of gamma curve, WDR, CLOG, REC709 etc.

So You can go into Speedgrade Then add a lut and choose FPE LUT for example EKTAR 100 FPE and then grade with primary and secondary corrections?

I haven't heard much about the Impulz LUTS. Can you guys give your impressions? How does it compare to Film Convert?

It takes way more grading skill to use successfully than film convert, but if you spend enough time with it I really like the results.

How are people liking the Impulz Luts I think they are great.

Still trying new ways to use them. Anyone using them via Premiere Pro via Lumetri?
