Importing footage via firewire...

I have a shoot tomorrow and just started having major problems with my G4 powerbook, and thus no longer have access to the PCI input. I'm having trouble figuring out how to import footage connecting the camera to a G5 through firewire.

I installed the drivers. Once in FCP I go to File> Import> Pansonic P2... but the footage from my card isn't showing up. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Have you moved to MCR mode, and then held the button down again for about five seconds until the Firewire Connect message appears?

All drivers installed?
 
Thanks so much for your reply...I'm pretty new with this camera and am having a hard time getting to MCR mode. Is there anyway you could elaborate? I truly appreciate the help.
 
Just to the left of the battery look for the button labled "camera"- press once
to look at the thumbnails of your clips - then press and hold for a few seconds.
It will say 1394 disconnect- then connect. You are then in the correct mode.
 
The best I can say is take a look at the manual.

It clearly shows where the MCR mode is.

And also, how to mount using firewire.

It's better to read than for us to retype the same things printed in the manual.
