important question on the xha1 and interlacing

can some one tell me if the canon a1 is recording its 30p in true progressive in the since that I shouldn't see any interlacing lines when I do a quick time?

And if I'm seeing interlace lines what is the best method in final cut pro to deinterlace and maintain a good quality?

The canon XHA1 records at 30f not 30p. It is recording a t 60i but using an algorythm to create the appearance of 30p. You have to deinterlace the footage somewhere in the editing process by using a program like jes-deinterlacer. i think you can do it in cinema tools as well, but i'm not sure.
