Import issue with FCP...Help Please!

Ok, this is the 1st time I have encountered this. I shot a bunch of footage onto p2 cards and inbetween shots i dumped all the footage down to an external Firewire drive connected to my Macbook Pro. I used the duel systems adapter and the p2 genie. One of my clips, of course an extremely important one, will not import. In FCP, when I goto import->Panasonic p2, I navigate to the folders for import and the previews come up. I am able to play the entire clip through on the preview window in the import screen, however, when I drag and drop that clip for import, it has a red stop sign saying unknown error... What is going on? If the data was corrupt or something, why would it play ll theway through flawlessly, but not import? Please help, this is real important.

Make sure you have the "Remove Pulldown" option unchecked in the Import preferences.

Have you tried copying the clip back to a P2 card and playing it in the camera, and possibly using the clip repair function there?

No I will try that Now... How exactly do I do that lol? I have connected the camerawith 1394Device selected. It brought up the P2 cards with "no name", however, when I attempt to copy and paste it tells me that the volume no name can not be modified. I am on a Mac.

yes I am having the same exact problem as well. For one of my rolls, all I had to do was copy the folder and text file, delete the files in the log and transfer window and re-import them. That worked, but now it's not and I need the same answer...

can view the clips and everything too but get the red (!) next to the clips in the log window.

please someone help us, this is killing my post time

I have had this same issue. My problem came down to the files. I think there was an issue from card to computer. And no I never got the problem resolved. I retraced my steps and could only determine something was wrong with the P2Store I was using- or something happened during transfer. Now everything works fine?? I do have P2 Log Pro and that has helped a lot with problem files.

I'm encountering a similar problem, except that it seems to be limited to 720p clips...460i clips imported with no problem at all. I've copied the files, so I haven't lost the information...I just can't edit them.
