7D Import/Export Question

I know this has been gone over probably 100 times but I still can't find a solid work flow for 7D footage.

The only codec that seems to play right with my Mac is AIC. However, when exporting as H.264 1920x1080 HD, my footage looks like crap. (ex.: http://vimeo.com/12706918) Everything looks great until I export. Why doesn't it look closer to this? (http://vimeo.com/9005890)

So my question is, what format are you guys using for export? Thanks for any help!!

My Mac:
OS X v.10.5.8
Dual 1.25 GHz PowerPC G4
2GB RAM (sucks I know)

My Camera:
Canon 7D
firmware: 1.2.1

Sorry to say it but most likely it's time to upgrade your computer.

HD of any flavour, even intermediate codecs such as ProRes, require's a fair bit of horsepower and plenty of RAM to edit efficiently. A core 2 Duo with 4gb RAM is about the minimim requirements.

As for your exported footage, what settings are you using? It looks as though thte bit-rate is set too low when exporting which is resulting in the visible artefacting.

Do your images come out washed out looking? I'm having that problem right now and I'm trying to find a solution to it.

Btw, what is the best way to export your vids?

The link in this post was Exported using QuickTime Conversion in FCP, H.264 compression I believe..
