Impact BP-970 Batteries in the A1?

I'd read something about large non-Canon brand batteries sticking in the A1's battery compartment. There is a huge price difference between Impact ($129.99) and Canon BP-970 ($164.99) batteries at B&H.

Anybody have any experience with Impact's BP-970 batteries, specifically the larger-sized BP-970s in the A1?

I got one with my A1 after reading they worked for someone else (over on dvinfo, I think). It really fills up the cavity but pops in and out of my A1 just as easily as the stock Canon battery does.

One thing the puzzles me a little is that the Canon battery that comes with the A1 has five contacts on it. The Impact battery only has two. So far it seems to work and charge the same but I'm curious what the other three contacts are for on the Canon battery. Anyone know?

I also have the BP-970 Impact battery on top of my canon one and they do not get stuck. I repeat, they DO NOT get STUCK. Best fit ever!!! pops in and out perfectly.

i really dont know. I shot one day(whole day) at an airport and the next day it was merely at 50-75%. ofcourse it wasnt constant but it was shoot, stop, analyze, shoot, stop, etc.

Both batteries are insane at longetivity!
