I used to proress the MXF 4K material, before throwing it onto my TL in Premiere, since I updated Premiere yesterday, I think there's a quicker way to work with the material, but I am not able yo find it.
Anyone?

I have a MacPro 6core with the dual graphic card (D700) en lost of RAM, but that doesn't mean the codec is recognised.

Are you using Premiere CC or CS6? Premiere CC recognizes the footage natively, and you can check drag and drop or add from the media browser.

What kind of hard drive is your media on? You need to have something relatively fast. Either a Raid 0 HDD or a single SSD ideally connected over thunderbolt.

If you are on the new trashcan mac pro's, try putting the media on your startup disk, which is a very fast SSD (I believe PCI-E)

But I am able to play 4K MXF back on my MacBook Pro Retina at 1/2 quality option using the internal flash memory.

I have a 12 Core MacPro, GTX980, and fast Samsung SSD- PP CC 2015 still has a hard time playing 4K C300II files, even at 1/2 resolution. Resolve 12 plays them like butter. Given the high CPU and RAM usage, it doesn't appear that GPU acceleration is being used for these new MXF H.264 files.

It's just very strange to me, I have no issue's with my Premiere and playing multiple streams of 4K on my 12 Core dual 6GB VRAM system when reading off the internal SSD...so it must be some sort of Premiere setting.
