FEATURE: Immigration Tango

Just got some really cool news. Immigration Tango, a script that I sold back in 2008 was made in 2009 and now is officially hitting the festival circuit beginning next month.

1st it's the Boston International Film Festival
http://www.bifilmfestival.com/000010session6.html

Then the Palm Beach International Film Festival
http://www.pbifilmfest.org/2010/features/immigration_tango/

A trailer will surface online soon and I'll definitely point you all in the direction to see it.

It was a script that I'd worked on for several years and had gotten some attention over time but finally found it's place in 2008 and now hopefully will make some noise in festivals and distribution.

I'm not as intimately involved with this film as I am with Battle (which many are probably tired of me talking about but will have to suffer more soon) but I did earn an associate producer credit for working on it well past my writing chores were over.

The good news is that the producer likes my work and may be working with more of my material in the future as well employed me for re-writes, etc. on their current slate.

Again, I'll post more details as they come in, especially the trailer.

Some brief information

Immigration Tango (Romantic Comedy)
written by Martin Kelley & Robert J. Lee

Logline:
An American couple and a foreign couple test the limits of friendship and love when they switch partners and get married for green cards. What happens when friendship and trust and love and sex get all mixed up in a four-way dance around the immigration laws?

Immigration Tango sounds cool. I live in Boston and will probably go to some BIFF screenings. I'll have to check it out.

Very cool. Some friends of mine worked on the post audio for that movie, so it's cool that it ties together with this site.

it's cool to see that you've a complete audiopostcrew.

To bad I live far from civilisation (I live in Belgium)....So can't see it in theaters...

A release date for Immigration Tango should be set soon.

I'll give more information once I have all confirmed.

thanks for folks who've shown an interest thus far,

Wow. I'm really tripping out now. I've had two films I wrote rated by the MPAA within two weeks of each other.

1st was Battle...now Step Off on Dec. 8th and now Immigration Tango

Both Rated R so that must mean I need to clean up my language

I just came across this:
http://www.monacofilmfest.com/2010program/winners.php

Looks like Immigration Tango got 3 awards in Monaco.

Best Ensemble Cast, Best Supporting Actress - Avery Sommers, and Special Mention Angel Film Award

Pretty cool. It also went to two other festivals I didn't even realize that it screened in.

I'm hoping an official announcement will be forthcoming soon from Roadside Attractions as to the cities that will be included in the limited release.

I believe the date will be Feb. 18th, 2011 but I don't have an official confirmation on that as yet.

Thanks for those with an interest.

Nice, man. Just watched the trailer, lots of great beats.

Limited Theatrical with a company like that is nothing to scoff at on our level.

Inspiring!

Man the newer trailer makes the movie look completely different.

Did Roadside have that rEcut ??

If not, please point me to the trailer editor!
