Imagine Products and Mac Library

Has anyone had any experience using Imagine Products Mac Library? I am currently looking for a new library tool to call up footage/clips based on a variety of meta data. This is for my stock library ranging from marine animals, locations, plants, etc... For the past ten years i've used a custom database i assembled from a database software product. But every week the collection keeps growing and my tapes are outdated and I will want to now digitize all of my footage for easier recall and viewing.

I know there are many others out there in the same situation and would love to hear some thoughts on this subject--your solutions and ideas.
Thanks,

Here's the link to Imagine's Mac Library:

Search data: archiving software, video library, stock footage software

I use HD Log Gold and have been logging lots of footage for a doc project. the other day i had to go back into my logs to find something someone said in an interview which was logged into the 'log note' field.
I was very surprised in a good way how quickly I got a correct result returned for the clip I was looking for. I'm sure that if you used HD Log you could get similar results for your project.
I know its not Mac library but it might work for you.

Thanks for that bit of information Mark. I really like the idea of mac library, but the cost is just way out there for a small operator like myself.

and thanks for the link Kevin. I'd like to find out about that and will give it a look.

Too bad....great thing to have, but definately requires someone to stay on top of the database--someone to talk with for tech questions/problems. I know I would not have any interest in putting time to figure it out and would rather pay for a turnkey system designed with the search data i have in mind.

Kevin, are you aware of apple coming out with a product called "server" ? It's a similar system for content management. And original target is supposed to be news companies....I have a link some place, but can't seem to find it. I have no idea when it's expected to be released. But I've been waiting 8months since I heard about it. Priced at $999

I saw that. Certainly much cheaper than Mac Library. I see it says: Final Cut Server will be available by early 2008.
