image stabilized lenses and video on the 7D?

I haven't bought my 7D yet and am wondering how many folks out there have used it with lenses that have built-in IS. I'm coming from a Sony DSLR with IS in the body (and camcorders with optical IS) so I'm not very familiar with in-lens IS to start out with...

Can you leave the in-lens IS on while shooting video? Are there any articles / threads (couldn't find any) that have already discussed using image stabilized lenses for video work? Would this be a really helpful feature to have for documentary shooting?

I deliberately purchased the Canon EF-S 15-85mm IS USM lens because of it's great focal range and built-in IS. I did a test on my 7D a week or so ago using the 17-55mm IS lens from Canon and did not see any problems during pans, or tilts with the IS left on.

Thanks for the links - both of those were incredibly helpful. Looks like IS is a pretty important feature to have when you're filming on the go (unless you're using an ultra-wide).

Have you tested out the 15-85mm IS USM? Is the distortion at 15mm going to cause any serious problems?
