C100: Image Problem

C100 is my first camera with a rolling shutter and I'm baffled by it. Is this normal for C100:

These lines usually appear when I move the camera in fast motion (as in the video) or when I point it to bright light sources. What causes this and is there any way to avoid it?

No lamp or any kind of light source in the room you shot in? Overhead light? lamp? Any light that was on?
Looks like shutter speed issue (I see it a lot at weddings, I'm sure Alex (above) sees it all the time as well.

Difficult to tell with the vid you posted though. Looks very 'zoomed in' and out of focus, so can't really see what else is happening with the strobing.

Might post specifics on how you shot as well (framerate, iso, shutter, etc etc)

First, that piece of video you posted is nothing usable for any kind of video I can imagine. If you would shoot some more footage that illustrates the problem you have and post it we can give advice.

We all hated rolling shutter at first but now it's a New Normal. Most noticeable when still photographers are flashing, or vertical things, like parts of robots, are swishing through frame. Besides, you can't expect whip panning the camera to produce anything decent.

As to the strobing that I saw in the last part of your example, are you in a NTSC or PAL country? I've gotten that with fluorescents if my setting was off. But send us a usable example in order to help you.
