Yes, I’m managing North American Sales for Prolycht. Our Orion 300 Full Spectrum Spotlight is a pretty sweet lamp. The color is beautiful with great skin tones at all color temperatures and the design is real jack-of-all-trades versatile. Think 300w COB but fully color tunable.

I like helping to bring interesting new products to market. These are really useful tools that scratch a lot of people’s itches.

I'm not trying to bring your product down, Mitch, but I feel in regards to what you're talking about it's way overpriced and very poorly designed. Frankly, this is a better product at a fraction of the cost for that.

As for RGB COBs, the Orion 300 looks like the best (and I guess only) light at what it does at its price point. The Hives look better to me, but cost 2-3 times as much. I'm considering an Orion. I imagine it's just a matter of time before RGB COBs flood the market from several manufacturers. Is Prolycht planning to expand their product lineup much? I only see two products on their website.

We will be expanding the line to include a full family of products. This is well into development.

Not sure why you feel it is a poor design. A lamp head with separate ballast is certainly nothing new, and it means that in addition to all the wireless or wired ways to remotely control the light you can also adjust it using the intuitive controls right on the ballast. The split design also means that the lamp head isn't too heavy so a less beefy stand is all that's needed. And given the functionality and color control there's nothing on the market at close to the price.

But yeah, if you need a back scratcher then go with that Amazon stuff.

I suppose a split design is advantageous over a singular design because then you could separate it to be able to scratch two parts of the back at once, but even you admitted the design is so poor that the Amazon stuff is better suited for the job at a fraction of the cost. The Amazon scratcher I linked to is admittedly a singular design, but it comes in a five pack so for just $9.99 you can have as many as five going at once if you have enough PAs on set to handle five at once. Look, I'm sorry if my posts result in the small business you work for losing sales to the behemoth known as Amazon, but you have to understand that most people don't want to spend $2k on a poorly designed back scratcher.

I think whoever comes to the market first with the next step up, a 1200w COB light, or better yet, an 1800w COB, will do well on sales. I'd love an LED M18 replacement that weighs a similar amount to an M18. Two Aputure 600Ds weigh similar and have similar brightness, but ganging up lights is a hassle. Get it RGB too and around a $4k-$8k price point and with a quiet fan, and it'd be awesome. I've been tempted to buy an M18, but I'm hoping a good LED replacement comes out before long.

Different tools for different uses. As I said, the Orion 300 FS is the first in a family of products. I suspect we'll have a light you'll find more interesting soon enough.
