I am using an XH-A1 with a Brevis 35mm adapter.

I am actually using laptop as a monitor and I would like to move to a more versatile/portable solution than this for focusing.

I was looking to Ikan's monitors.

Do you think that a V7000 will be a nice solution?

Do I need a bigger HD monitor?

Thanks!

the v7000 doesn't resolve nearly enough vertical resolution (234 lines) for you to focus with. take a look at the v8000hd, or better.

Yeah if you want a monitor without no fuss without jimmying the 8000hd is you only choice.

I bought the V8000HD a couple of months ago to use with a Canon XHA1. Sent it back a few days later.

The Ikan does not show peaking. So I found focusing on the camera's (admittedly tiny) LCD screen using both magnification and peaking to be more reliable than using the Ikan.
