If $$$ was not a problem, what novel would you make into a movie?

i always had a soft spot for the Dragonlance: Twins Trilogy, forget the original names...
I'd also do: PIllars of the earth, Ken Follet
Ship of Gold in a Deep Blue Sea, ?

then i'd remake the 4th Indy film....
Time of the Twins, War of the Twins, Test of the Twins... Yeah, I was a fan of Raistlin and Caramon too, but mostly the Tasslehoff character. He made it really interesting, and likely had as big a character arc. I think it would be a great movie.

Confessions of a Homing Pigeon by Nicholas Meyer. My favorite book and I have been lucky enough to interview Nick at his home a couple of times. Genius coming of age tale in France and Chicago of the 1950s. Would cost a bloody fortune to do the book justice.

Orson Scott Card's "Ender's Game"
I call shotgun, will make that one some day. :D

You'll have to get permission from the author, Orson Scott Card and, if everything I've heard is true, have to use his script.

Warner Brothers has reportedly scrapped their involvement with Enders Game. There seems to have been many disagreements between Card and the various producers and screenwriters; Card wants his film to be about the characters and not about the action, and rightly so.

It might be a good project for Pixar as their first foray into completely adult films (there have been rumors) or another animation outfit since a large portion the story takes place in free fall plus the fact that the kids are often nude and you couldn't have real kids in the buff.

^ there have been commercial films with performances by nude minor actors - The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane, The Blue Lagoon, A Girl Named Sooner, Poppi - although that may be a tougher sell in the 2000s, than it was in the 1970s...

Paradise Lost. God that would be epic. No pun intended.

That and Catcher in the Rye.

And _________________ by a Canadian Author which I do plan on actually making in a few years.

The scene with the boy and girl swimming naked, was done with body doubles? That's very hard to believe...
They used a body double for Brooke Shields - her mother was extremely adamant that he daughter NEVER appear nude, she thought that is would hurt her career. I remember all of the press about that when Brooke did "Pretty baby." Chris Atkins was nude (I knew him for a while during the period he was trying to live down the film)>

Oh, I'm talking about the earlier sequences of the film where the characters were being played by ten- or twelve-year-olds.

huh I don't really remember being in the buff as a big or important part of the storyline lol. Interesting that Warner Bros. scrapped the project. Anyway, I think it's possible to get both the Action and characters.. plus, Orson Scott Card is right about wanting to focus on the characters, they were what made the book so captivating especially Ender of course. Plus, I would love Scott Card to write or help write the script, he's an excellent writer - am reading his Character & Point of View book and it's pretty enlightening in the writing aspect.
