If the price is to good

What particular item were you referring to on that page as being too good?

The price listed for the AF102 is pretty close to what we are paying down here.

If you are in the EU be very careful before you buy any products from this company. Their prices they quote may not include the tax duty that you will have to pay if the product is imported from outside the EU. I have been forced to pay a massive amount of tax duty which was not included in the price that I paid to the company's European bank account. The tax bill arrived about two months after the equipment was received so I could not return it because I had already used it. Read the small print and choose a company that is very accurate and open in the way they promote the full cost of their items!! I would never recommend a company that operates like this. Totally despicable use of hidden costs to achieve a competitive advantage !!!

As a fresh and happy owner of a Red Epic, I decided to buy 3 Li160s and a charger for a total of 830 Euro in April this year. I had done some research online and it seemed like a good deal to me. Full of confidence in this world I wired the money upfront.

However, when the parcel reached Germany, I didn´t get any notification for customs. When I phoned customs, they told me about security problems with sending Li-Ion batteries via plane. (Globalmediapro later claimed I failed to come and pick up the parcel. Funny how they should know that... All I know is that I did not receive any notification.) But no matter what happened at this time, that´s not the point.

So the parcel went back to New Zealand. Globalmediapro told me to wait until the package would come back to them.

I had to write them every six weeks to make them remember my case, which is bad customer service in my eyes to begin with. Then they told me it was in their terms of trade that as soon as the package is at customs, they are out of any responsibility for it.

This may be so, I wrote back. But it couldn´t possibly be in their interest to have customers lose it all in a case like this. After all we are living in the fine new Internet age and I would certainly try to share my story with other interested people.

For an answer I got this: "If you need our help with the situation, please immediately withdraw your illegal defamation threats." - Which I (as a native non-English speaker) translated as: Don´t mention a word, You criminal, or You won´t get anything at all.

But, now having reached September, this nice remark slowly loses its bite. Since in August they wrote me a beautiful one liner for a finish: "We have not received the shipment yet. We suspect it was lost by the courier."

If it wasn´t for my money I would have liked to laugh about that: We suspect it was lost…please just forget about Your 830 Euros (1100 Dollars) and have a nice day.

So my advice to everybody planning to buy at Globalmediapro out there: There are hidden costs in the terms of trade of this company - if something goes wrong at customs Your money may be lost - all of it. And my experience told me: Don´t count on the cooperation of Globalmediapro in this case.

Just a general observation: use common sense. If you see an unbelievable price from an unknown merchant, why would you ever send money to that entity? "Hey everybody, we at Mickey's Burgers And Stuff have a RED camera for $500, come and get it, available at our drive through!" are you going to go, money in hand? If you recognize the merchant, and it's a reputable one, go for it. If it's one you never heard of...

Anyhow, I like camping in the desert here in Southern California, and I do a lot of nature photography (always bring enough batteries and a car charger!). I'm eager to learn more about these environments, so I do quite a bit of reading about the deserts in this region. About a month ago, I was at a bookstore looking through one such guide all about the giant desert nature park, Anza Borrego. It was an interesting book, and they had a chapter on various dangers, venomous snakes, bringing plenty of water with you and so on, all good advice. However, they also had a paragraph to the effect that you should never, that is NEVER, EVER, EVER put your hand down any hole you can not see into - don't do it! Never! Ever! No matter how tempted you may be, don't! Because there are plenty of venomous reptiles and insects and any emergency help may be many hours away and you'll be weak. Every year there are tragic accidents due to this. So, to repeat - never, ever put your hand down a hole you can't see into.

Now, I read and re-read that paragraph and that good advice. And I thought to myself - who in the world would ever think think it's a good idea to put your hand down a dark hole in the desert? Who? Who are these people, so abundant, that apparently you need a special paragraph in a guidebook about that danger. I kept shaking my head, I just couldn't grasp it. That's what I thought when I read this thread. I now understand all the good advice that's needed and am very glad people are giving good advice in this thread.

From what I've read:

It’s important to note that it is not defamation to write an honest negative review of a product, service or company. As long as the material facts of the review are accurate and honest, including what the subject of the review is and what happened when you tried to use it, your opinion is protected.

Though you can not materially and deliberately misrepresent a product, for example saying that it doesn’t do something it does or say that it makes claims it never has, as long as you stick to the facts about a product and your experience with it, you can review it, even negatively, without fear of being defamatory.

Truth and opinion are defenses in a libel suit so, as long as you stick to those things, your review should be fine.

Give em hell, tiger!

But just don't expect to get much out of it.

But I would tell them that if they don't make it right, you will make sure it costs them more than not refunding you is saving them, and that honest accuracy is not illegal even if it defames them.

These "businesses" don't care about negative reviews. They change the business names as often as you change clothes. Some of them actually welcome the negative reviews because it just promotes their name in the google rankings. Go ahead and write all the negative reviews you wish, but don't think of it as some kind of insurance since a negative review will rarely result in you getting your money back.

Maybe it's different in other parts of the world, but I wouldn't think so, at least in developed countries in Europe. Why would you wire money to any company? With a credit card, they will help you fight it and withdraw payment. Wire transfer there is 0 protection.

Yeah, right. You would never have made such a stupid mistake. I congratulate your children for having such an intelligent dad.
Globalmediapro is a real, actual company and not a black hole in the desert. They do business with people and the product they sell is used by a lot of people.
