... with the next vdslr`s this year, what is to do? I was thinkung about that the last days. There`re several options. Sure, most of us have different needs. But I suppose, that we all wish manual control and a better image quality for the video mode.
For me personally it seems to be the best way to keep my d90 for stills and buy a gh1 for filmmaking. Bye, bye 1 cam solution. The reasons:
- the D90 is an excellent still camera to this day (the gh1 isn´t). And after 1 year a sale isn´t worth the bother
- the gh1 has a lot of benefits for filmmaking:
- manual control
- af works fine
- all automatic features are fine for run + gun, travelling...etc.
- with an mft/nikon adapter i can use my nikon glasses
- swivel lcd
- 1080/25p pal => no crappy pulldown removal
- 720/50-60p with good image quality what i´ve seen so far
- long recording time
- no overheating
And what me always gets => aliasing. Illya Friedman just mentioned it in another topic: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showpost.php?p=1648581&postcount=48 I second that entirely.
But the jury is still out and i´m pondering about it. What are your alternatives?
