IDX mount on HPX-370

Buying a 370 and my sales rep has spec'd an IDX adapter plate to go from the Anton Bauer plate. All the literature I've seen simply says I need the V-mount plate for IDX, but this adapter plate (at .5 pounds) seems unnecessary. IDX literature calls the adapter a temporary or transitional adapter. Can I get a regular IDX mounting plate and swap out the AB easily?
Thanks,
Ed

Yes you can, when i bought my 371 i had my dealer remove the AB bracket and replace it with an IDX one.

Mine has the usual D tap socket plus a syncron switch which turns the D tap on/off when you hit record/pause.

Im sorry i dont have the part number to hand but your local dealer should be able to locate it easy enough.

Its just a few screws to remove the old plate and fit the new, just make sure the internal connector is on tight and make sure the internal wires dont foul the gaskets when its fitted.

AB isnt as popular here in UK and i was told that if i used the simple IDX converter which you were originally offered, some of my IDX fascilities might'nt work so i replaced it.

Thanks guys, I've changed adapters for Beta rigs, so I thought it would be relatively easy.

Its a piece of cake, Buy the proper IDX mount. remove 4 screws, remove A-B mount & replace with IDX mount. Both my 370 and 300 are set up this way.
