Idx aghmc70/150 battery ssl-vbg50

Hi,
There is only $30(on b&h) between the original panasonic and the idx and there is 800mah more on the panasonic, so basically the panasonic should last a bit longer. I would pay 30bux more for an original part

Just my 2cents

I just find it interesting to see an aftermarket for batteries on this camera... i personally think they're both expensive, and find the panasonic high capacity not a high value for the power it gives you.

I come from Sony, and there with a high OEM capacity Batt you get more than plenty juice for the hole day and for a lower price... and if you go aftermarket, you get alot more for your buck.

like you said, my 2cents

Do a search of the forum.

This is a "smart battery" which details time left.

Cost more.

Not justifying the price, but that is the explanation.

I had major issues with some "after market" Sony batteries on a Sony cam that claimed to be "smart" or "identical" to Sonys.

Good points David. Also, it looks like they licensed the communication protocol from Panasonic. This has to affect the cost, essentially making it not a no name after market product.

I do understand the "smart battery" point, but they also have some very good aftermarket batteries... What I'm trying to find is a better/longer-lasting batteries.
Competition is a good thing for consumers!

The VW-VBG6 that are the same batteries as the VW-VBG6PPK are sold 149.95$ at B&H.

There description are not accurate. I made them change the description for the VBG6PPK. They said it was good with all Panasonic camcorders!

You will not in this form factor. ~6000 - 5600mah is about the most you can get out of them. It could be less :-) Out of curiosity I just ordered a few 5600mah HVX style batteries from eBAY, at about $30 per 2pc. They all tested to 3400-3500mah, a little better than half of what the label calls for.
