FS7: idiots guide

That's rather obtuse.
I agree, but that's just how search functions work. Go on the Wikipedia article for "Wi-Fi"... a page search for "wifi" yields 19 results, while adding the hyphen gets you 191 results. And that was also one specific example from the manual where it happened to have a "gotcha". If you search something like "volt" in the PDF, it will bring up results like "volt", "volts", and "voltage".

what size of the phillip head screw driver you guy use to loose up the four tiny screw at the handgrip? i need to rotate it a bit and can't seem to unloose those screws. I don't want to strip it.

You don't do anything with the tiny screws. Press the RELEASE button on the grip and it will let you rotate it.

Can anyone give me a quickie guide to setting one of the white balance settings (A or B ) to 5600? So far no amount a playing with the white balance and "preset-A-B" switch will give me anything but 3200. Is another button used? The manual isn't very clear.

Sorry I'm not sure as I ordered FS7 with the lens and dont have a camera yet. Only the manual. :-)
Try setting the switch to A or B and then see if you can make adjustments in Paint menu.

cheers

Morton

Thanks Morton! Had no problem adjusting color temp <P>, but when I tried <A> and <B> it said cannot proceed. Any ideas?

If you are in CineEI mode the temp is fixed at 3200 4500 5600, adjustable on the little switch. So when you hit the AWB on the front you will get 'cannot proceed'?

Idiot guide. Ive put an SD card in the camera

How do I load create title a look.

For example I want to make 2 to start with and call them

CustSlog32K
CustSlog55k

Thanks!

Im not looking to import LUTs - Im looking to make a custom setting and save it with a title and then get it back?

Like loading picture profiles I have stored in my EX1?

Ok Sam I had to do something similar to compensate for my magenta shift.

I just made a regular scene file. I'll be with the camera in an hour and guide you through what I did.
From memory it was pretty easy. I think it was in the Media section of the menu. You use the joy stick to give the file a name by selecting letters etc.

Hi Sam,

To load LUTs, Scene Files and other stuff:

Use the menu's under e.g. FILE>SCENE FILE>SAVE SD CARD

or FILE>MONITOR 3D LUT>LOAD SD CARD.

When saving items to the SD card you will be prompted to assign a slot number to store it under and a menu will pop up to allow you to enter the name.

Hope this helps.

Surinder.

Is there a way to view this on the monitor.

EG I might title a custom file as.
"SMM_SLog_5600"
and another as
"SMM_Slog_3200"
I want that on my monitor!

Simply without seeing the title Im basically too scared to use it!

It is certainly an uphill travel to set the camera/learn it so one will be using it to peak performance while concentrating on content.

With this camera I honestly think its worth the effort.

I'm really confident that it'll be capable of making gorgeous pictures. From R&G work with a speed boost and 24-70, shooting onboard. To higher end work shooting RAW with the back extension and either a O7Q or a Shogun.

For me I'm finding the XAVC I internal 10bit files have enough wiggle room to push around in post.

I can't seem to hook up Shogun to my FS7. Connect via hdmi but nothing show on Shogun?? Do i have to change something in the menu to have the output hdmi out?
