an option where you can toggle in a menu where only the most used basic functions are accesible or all the functions are accesible. most users don't need to get into all the complicated functions all the time
 
:badputer: Canon has dials like that on their cameras. The problem is that they break. I had to replace the whole top plate on my Canon A2 because the cheap dial broke. If RED makes an idiot mode, which they should, please don't even consider a dial. Buttons are much less likely to break. The less moving parts on RED, the better. It is like the ice cube maker on a fridge. You know that thing is going to break. Don't put any ice cube makers on RED. No dials. Put only the idiot mode on mine.
