I was looking around the other day for a better lanc controller for my z1u. it turns out that panasonic allows for third parties to have a wired connection to control not just zoom, but also accurate focus, but sony doesn't.
it would be nice to have a product that allowed third-parties to come up with various controllers that red might not think of for any function on the camera (even menu controls, lcd brightness, whatever).
