there are a number of filters people always use. but threading on and switching in matte boxes and all of that can be a pain. plus you can lose or forget your filters.

cameras like the sony z1u have nd filters in the body that are compact and easy to set. but what about color temp compensation? polarization? or any number of standard filters.

how about an extension to the camera barrel that allows for automated swapping of filters, which are stored right there on camera? never be without your critical filters!

This is a great idea!
Also a great one for a sealed matte box (maybe electronic too) to avoid dust etc except to the window in front!

Temperature compensation is not needed in digital cameras, just polarization, a couple ND and a ND grad would be fine, but pol should be rotating.
