Capture audio at 24 bit/96 Khz. Delay the audio stream going to media. Build in a 'look forward' function, looking for audio peaks and scaling the output accordingly. From this downrez to 16 bti/48 Khz. This will allow for smart peak control. Then let the audio info sync with the video after this process. (For monitoring you will of course listen to the non-delayed signal).
