IBC Still Slated As Footage Reveal?

While at NAB I was told IBC would be the first Expo to have footage shot with the HVX200 for display.

IBC is in September, surely, surely Panasonic must have a working camera and footage for display? :undecided

Anything happening in the States before September where the camera could turn up?
 
I've been expecting IBC to represent the first round of footage as well.

Only thing going on in the US that I can think of is the WEVA expo in August, and I'm pretty sure that won't be the place where they have the big unveiling (although it was the place where I first got hands-on with the original DVX100...)
 
Yeah, we can all cross our fingers for WEVA. or we can all give barry a $1 each so he can fly to Amsterdam and kidnap the camera.

i would put money on it.. I dont see who else could right a better book on th HVX than barry.
 
There will most definitely be one. But the kidnapping the HVX idea is pretty good -- that way I could get a good head start on the book!

Just received news from a Panny rep that the company has not made any provisions so far to show a working model of the HVX 200 at IBC/Amsterdam. Sounds to me like they intend to show what was shown at NAB. All this due to the tight engineering and production schedule to bring the camera to the market during the 4th Q of 2005. IMHO this is also to happen in Europe.

No news about footage, though.

Alas, we will see.

Meet him in Amsterdam would be a pleasure. But Kidnap the cam???
Will be a non-working model, see above!
 
C'mon guys what happened to patience? I would rather wait longer to have a better camera than hurry the process and have a rushed camera with "cut corners"
 
On the event that Panny announces they will have a working model I volunteer logistical support and planning for "Operation Impatience", and partial funding of course... LOL

Since I'm in belgium I think I'll be taking a closer look at this cam at IBC.
I'll let you guy's know how bad it performs :evil:
 
would be great but 2 problems:
I have to be sure that will be a working model, I don ' t want to travel for miles and see a presentation shoted with a varicam....
And then, I have to know exactly the panasonic program cause I can't attend all the 5 days.
