If our footage that we show at IBC doesn't look like film (without grain), you should all ask for a refund.

Personally I have zero doubt it will look like film - it's the reason I decided to put down a deposit. The article that pushed me over the edge was Mike Curtis' enthusiastic and excited post on his site when he said "I Saw Something" and capitalised it. There was this sense of genuine excitement in his article that he had seen a glimpse of the future and that future was Red.

Just remember those of us unable to attend IBC, so that we might also get a glimpse of the footage somehow (via download to deposit holders or maybe a bittorrent from your website).

im sure deposit holders will be taken care of.
 
We have a real problem here. How do we post a clip (after IBC) that does this footage justice? I really want everyone to see RED on a 4K projector for the 1st time.

We are open to suggestions.

I would like to add that this is the single most exciting project that I have ever worked on.

You're welcome to come on over to my place and set up the projector any time. I'll provide the beer. As much as I'd love to see 4K in all its glory, I'd settle for a smaller sized clip showing off some dynamic range. Perhaps a demonstration at Oakley headquarters would be a good idea.
 
Damon... We have a lowly 1080P projector at Oakley. But we are ordering a 4K for RED. Hold onto the beer. I'll take you up on it when you see this stuff.

Ive been lucky enough to see the RED footage at 4k, pipped out of the sony 4k projector.. and you guys have no idea what your in for.

this isn't the "wow that's good looking video!" kinda thing..

this is the " #$@#$ " speechless kinda thing.

I hope you do something state side after IBC. Ticket prices to Califorinia aren't that bad. Any excuse to visit the west coast is a good one, I really like it out there.

Well for one, Red is based in California, so I don't think your request will be too difficult to fulfil. ;) I remember a post that said they were aiming to do some screenings in Los Angeles and I believe Chicago (?) in late September and early October, but I can't seem to find it. Whatever the schedule ends up being, I'm sure they will take care of us.

I think it was New York. However Chicago would work better for me.....Oh I remember where I read it. Are e-mail letter :)

The RED 4K world tour! Projecting in a cinema near you!

I spent a few weeks in California last year, wish I had the cash to go back and check out footage, but I'm saving for a certain 4K camera.
