My pass for IBC came through t'other day, so I'm making arrangements to visit - purely to see the latest from the RED team of course!

So:

1) Who else is going?

2) I'm thinking I'll just drop in for a couple of days, so which are likely to be the best? First two? Last two? If 4k footage is being shown, what days are they likely to be etc?

Looking forward to it guys!

Lucky you i wish i could go :(

Just booked my flight, decided I'd be there for the Monday and Tuesday. Now, where's good to stay in Amsterdam...

I stayed at the Hans Brinker Budget Hotel. I found it very expensive for what if offered, but no more than any other place in Amsterdam. It had a 'cool frat house atmosphere, and the usual frat house retard hanging around, but the beds were clean, there bedrooms were small so you didn't have to share your bathroom with 300 other guys and the breakefast was decent (in a way you could eat as much toast as you'd like). If you're under 30 (or just as broke as I am), it's an option.

It'll be hard to find an affordable accommodation in Amsterdam during IBC, especially on this short notice. But the trainride from Utrecht to IBC is around 30 minutes, and you'll find cheaper hotels there...

Just a tip.

Barend (who thinks Amsterdam is an overrated experience...)

Actually (worryingly maybe) I'm finding plenty of fairly affordable accomodation during IBC! Thanks for the tip about Utrecht though, might be worth a look...

Outside of people from neighbouring countries, i think you shouldn't waste a dime on going to the IBC. Maybe if you were heading for Amsterdam anyway, but as Baren said, Amsterdam is overrated.

my 2 Eurocents.

What has the city to do with the IBC?
I think most people go there because of the once a year opportunity to see what`s out there on our market - not because of visiting Amsterdam...
Well, I also go there because falafel with salad refill is only 3 euros...

PS what can we expect from the RED team there? Can I have Scarlett Johansson in 4K, please...?

Yeah people here are not going to see much of the city anyway... Except if it is 4K footage from RED... :)

And maybe get a hering sandwich!

Julio
(Who thinks if you manage to avoid the tourist traps and tourist nightclubs, Amsterdam is actually quite cool - And the dutch women are great... c'mon!)

I'd like to be there. Amsterdam is a wonderful town indeed, unfortunately I'll be shooting those days. I'd like to know you personally Jarred, Jim and other members of our community but there will be new opportunities in the future.

Ill be there as well.. going to be great to meet you guys.

Wow! Jarred will be in IBC? You must have married a perfect sugar-momma to be able to afford such extravagances. Or is it the lure of red that will bring you????:)

The Ibis Hotel next to the station is pretty good and reasonable. The pub of choice at 3.00am is "the Door on the Left" just off Dam Square. (that really is the name; had me walking around for hours my first year)

where can i get a pass to ibc? their website is down and has ben for a few days. i've got the money for the hotel and plane but i need to get a pass before i decide to go!
