I Was Bored

Re: I Was Bored

Consider me freaked out. :'( I need to go back and look at JerryX's New World clips now...

Re: I Was Bored

OH MY GOD! That is TOO funny. I SWEAR I was just working on the same idea!

HAHAHAHA! Guess I don't need to go any further!

You ROCK Jersey Dan!

Re: I Was Bored

1) Film looking this way and that way
2) Export single frames from Vegas
3) Randomize the exported frames and import to Vegas as a new track
4) Cookie Cutter to replace one eye with randomized footage
5) Render to new track
6) 4 & 5 again for the other eye, but use velocity envelope to reverse the eye movement

It probably would look better to render the eye frames to a new track and use a bezier mask rather than the Cookie Cutter, but...it was 3 a.m. ;D

Re: I Was Bored

I'm interested to know, your step #2, did you CAPTURE single frames on importing the footage in step #1? I am trying to understand "Export single frames from Vegas". Thanks. Fun thing to do for practice...but may make my head explode. heh!

Vegas has a script that will export single frames as PNGs or JPGs (Tools | Scripting | Render Image Sequence). I exported them, then used a little program I wrote that randomizes the images by changing (renumbering) the filenames. Then I just selected the whole kit'n'kaboodle and dropped them on a track (first setting the duration for still images to .04 sec so they'd work on a 24fps timeline... Options | Preferences | Editing).

So, no. Captured as normal first, then did #2 and so on. SO much fun figuring out how this stuff works. Certainly less stressful than actually making a movie. ;)

Re: I Was Bored

;D I have four days off work with nothing on the to-do list but get acquainted with Vegas. Thanks!

Re: I Was Bored

Interesting approach...

I was just holding my head really still and rolling my eyes. Shift a copy of the video track and soft garbage matte around the other eye, then speed everything up.

Re: I Was Bored

That was awesome. I think a short burst of that with a cartoon double-take sound effect would be killer.
