I think I just got a phishing phone call.

It was a recording saying it was important news regarding my "Visa/MasterCard/American Express credit card," and that I should "push 1" if I wanted to lower the rate on it.

Didn't do so, but I suspect it would have then asked for the account information.

This was to my work cell phone.

"I'll get you next time David ... next time!!"

That's really odd. But pushing 1 couldn't have done anything, right? It would have just further confirmed your theories.

when i had credit cards i would sometimes get calls about them wanting to change something or add some sort of service. i always told them, just send me the information in the mail. then i would hang up.

We used to get strangely specific calls. It was like that, but then it said 'If this is George Rodriguez, press one now...'. I think they might have focused that scam a little too much to be successful.

Its a scam, press one next time and ask to talk toa supervisor, they hang up on you.

I could of saved on my auto repair bills because my warrenty was about to expire and they were gona renew it for me..... I don't have a car.

They're trying to get you to sign up for a new card. I've gotten the same call... to my cell phone, at that.

LOL! They used to call three times a day, I don't have a car either.

Just say you want to talk to them for a few minutes about our lord and savior Xenu...They won't call back.

Careful - that whole 'no allusions to religion/politics' board policy just bit me yesterday...

Oops...Seriously though, just make them think you're a wacko and you'll be put on the telemarketer do not call list.
