C200: I think I have a lemon

I'm having problems with "Buffer Overflow" errors that periodically stop recording when recording MP4 to SDXC. Also, at times it takes up to 20 seconds for the camera to finish writing to the card after stopping recording. I'd say this happens only about between 2-5% of the time. The rest of the time it works perfectly.

I just wanted to check to make sure it's not some weird card compatibility problem. Are others using Lexar Professional 1000X SDXC cards without issue? I've tested 4 different cards and they all have the same problem. 2 of them I've been using for about a year without issue on another camera.

Needless to say I'm a little disappointed as I'm not sure how long it will take to get a replacement or get it fixed. Hopefully either B&H or Canon will just do a swap for a new camera.

Chances are you are using incompatible cards with the camera, not that the camera is broken, although, of course, that is possible. All Canon says in the manual is to use UHS1 or UHS3 cards, but they do say as of March 2017, the camera has only been tested and proven with Toshiba, Sandisk and Panasonic cards.
The simple test is to buy or borrow another brand of card. If the other cards work flawlessly with your camera, it is obviously your cards are incompatible with the C200. If one or two other brands exhibit the same inconsistencies, then perhaps something is wrong with the camera?
FWIW, I have been using my old Transcend UHS3 Class 10 64GB cards from my C100 MKI in my C200 and they have been flawless so far and I have shot some long interviews with them already, 90 minutes onto two cards the other day. No issues, no time to write after stopping.

I'll give SanDisk a shot first. It's just odd. Lexar is a well-established high-quality brand.

And it would be nice if Canon tested with cards that aren't discontinued. Almost all of them on the list are discontinued. Sigh.

I've had buffer record issues a couple times on my C300 Mark II when recording in 4K. The camera would stop recording while buffering, and then take a good minute or so to close the file, during which time the camera could not be turned off (unless you took the battery out). It appears I found the solution as I haven't had the issue since doing the below. This applied to Cfast cards; I don't know if this would apply to SD cards as well if Lexar has a similar tool for SD cards.

From Canon's webpage of approved media for the C300 Mark II.

Proper operation cannot be guaranteed for all recording media.
In some cases, it may take longer to write data on the CFast card and recording may stop. To avoid this, we recommend that users regularly fully format and refresh their card using the "CFast Full Format and Refresh Tool" available from the link below.

I also had an the same issue yesterday shooting UHD to a sandisk extreme pro SDXC U3 class card. It freaked me out a bit. I shut it down and it started recording clips to the B slot card (Lexar SDXC U3 633x). :

Guy I know shot with me on Saturday, first time he shot on his C200 - had something freak out in the middle of the afternoon, camera stopped responding. Turned off' -> nothing - camera stayed in regular record mode.
Turned to media -> nothing.

Had to pull the battery. No issues afterwards.. but strange.
