I used the VIVIDrbg preset from Steven Dempsey, and did a little post production work for colors. I raised the black levels 20 and increased the saturation. Shot it in 24p with no adapters. I am new to the HD process but learning alot, I'm having trouble getting my camera to produce great colors without much post production work. It doesn't help much that I live in Nebraska, and right now it is like the most colorless place ever.

All feedback is welcome.

You had some shots I really liked, and some I liked a little less. I do think some of the colors are a little oversaturated here and there. But like you said, this is a test.

I really liked the shot of the leaf at the end.

epocson--
thanks for posting the footage. I liked the vivid colors. the few handheld shots looked more stable than the handheld shots I am getting with my A1 (the stabilization has disappointed me on mine -- I find that in hi-def I almost always need to use a tripod -- even footage shot with a monopod seems shaky compared the stabilization (electronic) on my Sony 250 (although that is just standard def).

Did you slow up the handheld shots in post? Or do any other kind of post-stabilization? Did you shoot with the Canon's stabilization feature on or off (I have turned mine off and seem to notice a bit LESS jiggle, for some reason).

Also, could you tell me what kind of file did you send to vimeo? what compression did you use? I work in Final Cut Express and I have also sent footage to vimeo. My vimeo footage looks to have artifacts from the compression (either theirs or mine, I don't know which.)

Thanks for any of your thoughts on this.

Thanks for the comments. I used a tripod on all the shots but two. I didn't slow any of the footage down in post, and the image stablizer on the A1 was on. When I rendered it in premier i used adobe media encoder and exported it as a windows media file and the compressor was sindows meida video v9. It kicked alot of ass.
