FS7: I returned my XDCA-FS7 Extension and 7Q back to BH

What parameters are you referring to? What would you like to change while recording? I can't imagine you would want to change the codec or something of that nature. If you are referring to the various monitoring functions, like Pixel Zoom or Focus Assist, or any of the exposure tools, such as the Waveform or False Color, then OF COURSE YES you can adjust those while recording. They will not alter the recording itself.

It is true that we do not yet have our Vectorscope enabled. It will be soon, and when it is the Vectorscope will include features that make it a far more functional tool than the competition's iteration.

Unlike the competition, the Odyssey7Q+ can accept video signals over not just one SDI connection, but dual-link (two ports) or even quad-link (four ports). That's how a camera such as the very popular F55 can output true 4K to the Odyssey7Q+. Currently there is no way to get true 4K out of the F55 and into the competition's device.

Thats good to know, but Mitch what is the reasoning behind having mini hdmi ports? i hate those things.

The engineers tell me we moved to mini HDMI because we found that it actually held a bit more firmly than a full sized HDMI connector. We also found that the mini HDMI connections were better protected for static discharge, which can be a real issue. But we certainly hear people's issue with using the connection.

Just thought I would throw in my two cents! I pre-ordered a Shogun and when it arrived decided to return because of the build quality. Luckily, CD was offering the two free SSD cards with the purchase of the 7Q+. The 7Q+ is a rock solid build!

just to add my two cents... I was shooting with the FS7 and Odyssey 7Q last week and in every outdoor situation the 7Q was almost unusable, way too glary!

I really like the 7Q, except this. It's very, very glossy and almost impossible to see in the bright sun. Even with a sunshade, it's still extremely reflective. Not sure why pro equipment would ever use a glossy screen. Should be matte.

Compared to the Samurai Blade and Samurai (original) that I own, the Shogun does seem 'plasticy'. But for me, shooting in concert halls, it's not that much of an issue. I'm careful with my gear and as long as I follow procedures for packing and unpacking, my gear stays like new for years. Only the clock tells the true age.
