Looks like there are a lot of RED geeks out there... I'll finally get some family time tomorrrow but I'll probably still check in.

Are you kidding?! I finally have time to spend lurking here! Laptop's going with me to the relatives, and I'll be off in some diningroom corner re-reading the new specs posts, and drooling over the new renders.

EDIT: O.K., Shawn, you have me beat. But only because my wife's not in labor.

lol, my wife isn't too happy about this site, she calls it my mistress. She'll catch me on the laptop late at night and say "what are you doing?" I quickly reply "uh...looking at porn!" to which she retorts "lier! You're on dvxuser again!".

So anyhow, I did a ton of research on the audio section and ended up buying too much gear too fast and ended up having to delay buying a changing table and stroller (she has them now). I told her "the baby might not have a changing table, but at least I'll be able to record his cries in high fidelity audio!". (heads up, that explanation doesn't work).

My kid and Red are very connected. I found out my wife was pregnant the day my dad got my reservation at NAB. So I guess Red#27 is the same age as my kid, the Red just has a higher gestation time then a human... :-)

So thanks for the wishes!

If it's a boy, how about naming him FRED!

Or a girl, how about MildRED!

Sorry...couldn't resist....but I'm sure the wife would understand if you chose one of those names. Uh...then again...maybe she wouldn't...

That's funny. Whenever my wife sees me looking at DVXuser, she asks "Are you looking at camera porn again?". :beer:

Lol, my wife jokingly said to me "Tell Jim you'll name your kid after him if he gives you a Red." I told her I couldn't do that, because if Jim said sure, I'd be too damned tempted to do it! :-)

In Norway (Scandinavia) we always celebrate on the eve of the 24th, so we are about to start the christmas dinner, followed by opening presents... so yes I am a geek when it comes to RED!
