Some cookbook settings would be lovely. I tried the one on the site and it just doesn't work for me. I know how the Steadicam is supposed to act because I have seen people use it in the mirror and do really fast moves without it rocking and I don't have it balanced right yet.

I started messing with it yesterday and got it pretty close and can definitely see the huge potential in having this.

I've gotten mine pretty close with the lens hood and no filter. I use slot "O" on the plate. Arc angle is right on the middle mark. Two full and one half weight on the bottom, one full and half in the middle. See if that gets you anywhere.

and what does arc angle right on the middle mark mean? and where do u put the quick plate? -0.75 like it says on the site? and how many times do you spin the z?

That's for both lenses, as long as the tamron is at 17mm. Ive found they both balance at nearly the same place. Just a few tweaks needed. There are marks on the pivot point for the arc. I line up the middle mark with the guide. I want to say I put my plate at 1, but I'd have to check. Not sure on the Z either. Not a whole lot. Maybe 2 spins.
