I need some help.

I recently purchased my first hvx200 and I seem to be having some problems transferring my files to my PC from the P2 card in the camera.

I've installed the 64 bit driver, but the instillation process gets halted when I get to this step:

I have my camera hooked up via USB 2.0, but it does not recognize it.

Any ideas for a rookie?

did you set the PC mode menu item to USB? (the default is 1394 - Firewire)

Yes I did. Do you think it could possibly be my USB cable?

I'm assuming from what you said that you installed the P2 USB drivers, but beyond, I have no experience using USB. I use the duel adaptor.

Well, I seem to have made a rookie mistake.

I was under the impression that my PC would automatically recognize the camera. I was wrong. After racking my brain for about an hour I decided to plunge back into the instruction manual and realized that I did not have my camera in PC mode. I put my camera into PC mode, the little blue screen came up, and the install finished shortly after.

Needless to say I felt quite stupid haha.

Lesson learned. Don't scan the instruction manual, read it thoroughly!
