Is there anything in my dvx that I could of turned off
because my computer is not detecting it at all .
can somebody help me.. thank you in advanced
 
I had the same problem a while ago. I had a canapus analog/digital converter plugged in the back and my editing system could not detect a camera. Make sure no other audio/video devices are plugged into your computer.Make sure you are in vcr/playback mode. Also there should be a firewire on/off option or something in one of the menus of the camera so make sure that is turned on. Is this your first time importing footage to your computer? What editing system do you have?
 
Try going into the verry bottom submenu of the main menu and changing the "device control" to "both."
