I need constant Live View in video mode -- which camera should I buy instead of d810?

Hi,
I've got a d810 that I love, but it can't stay in Live View on an external screen for more than a few minutes while shooting videos.

And I need a camera that can do that. I should also be able to use my current d810 lenses for it.

Does anybody know if the d850 can do this -- or perhaps one of the Sonys?

Go for mirrorless camera, will show you live exactly how video will look, to continue to use nikon lens, you may have to buy lens adapter, but will be fully manual.

If I shoot 30 minutes of 1080p on an A7r iii, do you then know if I can display the entire video on an external monitor while I'm recording?

Or will it shut down at some point, as it does on my Nikon?

I haven’t used the Sony A7r series, but looking through your other thread on this issue it just seems... strange. If I read the other posts correctly, it seems you have found other folks experiencing the same thing, and Nikon has confirmed that it’s by design. Is this correct? Still... strange.

I’ve worked with other DSLRs and mirrorless, mostly Canon, and have never had any issue using an external monitor. I still keep an EOS 80D on hand for smaller projects, and have a Kinotehnik LCD electronic viewfinder for it, and have never had it shut down on me. It’ll stay on as long as the camera is on.
 
I have a D7000 Nikon camera and the external monitor stays on for the full recording time (20mins).

Shooting video with a Nikon is hair pulling frustrating; they are simply not interested in the video aspect of their cameras.
And adapting Nikon lenses to other brands means losing the auto features offered by the camera.
 
Well Nikon has responded with the new Z6, great active continuous focus and Camera stays in live view until the battery quits (being a mirrorless, it only has live view).
Nikon is finally making a camera that is video friendly.
