I literally have a headache from trying to remove pulldown. Do I need to?

I have a GH1 I just bought, and apparrently is not hackable. Insert expletive here.

I want to use the camera at 1920x1080, but I can't get the wrapper to come off without issues. Will the video still look normal in the interlaced wrapper?

Also, since I can't hack it, do you recommend I shoot in 720p60 or 1080i59.94? I like the 720p60, especially for slowmo, but I bought the camera in part for the full HD. What do you think?

Neoscene. Attempting to edit AVCHD is a little crazy in the first place. Removing pulldown means simply checking a box in Neoscene...and you can edit the resulting 24p AVI on a Commodore 64.

So in Cineform, you just select the MTS files from the card, check "Convert to 24p" in the preferences, high quality, and I-frames only, then click Start, right?

Copy Private folder to HardDrive > Ingest into Cineform @ 23.976.

Done

What MrMoe says...drag your files to the hard drive first. Then put your memory stick in a safe place until your life won't be sh*t if it were to be deleted.

I don't have a hardcore PC and I'm not a computer dude...I have a workhorse quadcore that I built from parts I bought from NewEgg...that just happen to work when I plugged them all in. And I use Vegas, so a monster computer is not required. For real-time playback of several video tracks and effects, Vegas eats Neoscene AVI like butter. Bad-boy computer specs (CPU) will help during renders/transcoding to compressed formats like BD and Youtube. :D

I'm still trying to test the differences between native 24p (via hack) and pulldown via Neoscene...as the motion blur SEEMS different (more jerky in pans) than other native 24p prosumer cams I've used in the past...but I do drink quite a bit of beer during the week...so none of my tests are for certain. :D

It's just another reason I'd like to see FACTORY native 24p and 24mbps AVC in the GH2. And AF-S for video. They can keep their touch screens and other crap. ;)

Is there a difference between selecting the PRIVATE folder (the copy on the hard drive) and selecting just the MST files? Does CineForm do anything with the meta data?

Also, when I ran the footage through CineForm, Cineform stripped it of its audio. How do you normally work with the internal audio? Just use the audio from the MTS files and sync it with the video?

Make sure you install AC3Filter codec (search google) and it won't strip the audio when you convert.
