I don't know if any of you have figured this out yet, but I was out filming today and as the sun was shining down I happen to look at the control knob display at a certain angle, and I realized that I could see the LCD text of the features that the A1 lacks (specifically HD-SDI, Genlock etc.) right underneath the battery status display. I already knew that the A1 and the G1 are almost identical but I didn't expect Canon to use the same LCD display for both and just "hides" the displays for the A1.
