I just got off a 5 week long feature yesterday where we used the Duel Adapter flawlessly (well flawlessly once we knew the procedure). We had a new 15inch 2.33GHz Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro and used the 10.4.8 driver installed on 10.4.9 with the installer program called Pacifist. Now I did not do the install myself, I just know the program that the AD (who is a computer programmer when not working on movies) used to do it. We also used Final Cut Pro 5.1.4 to import and rename clips.
Once the 10.4.8 driver was installed on 10.4.9 and the most current P2 driver was installed it became apparent there was an issue. THE DUEL ADAPTER CAN NOT, I REPEAT CAN NOT BE INSERTED WHEN THE MACBOOK PRO STARTS OR REBOOTS. If it is, OSX will do all sorts of funny things. As long as the MacBook Pro started/rebooted without the adapter inserted it worked perfect every time. If it was inserted you can't just pull it out and put it back in, YOU MUST REBOOT WITHOUT IT INSERTED. Once we found that out it worked perfect, almost 200 8gig dumps.
I hope this helps someone out there.
Here is the link to the Pacifist installer program.
