I found it!

Mr. Blonde

I don't know about you but I spend 10 years of life fixing dammed PC, and I made a lot money doing it then.

I am a film maker now.

I am not here to build Machine or Fixed them any more.

I just want to work, or maybe that is something that is alien to you.

I think Mr. blonde suffers from a bit of Mac envy. After all we have both 64bit Dual processor computers and a 64Bit OS that works. Plus the purdy'est damn monitor ever made. Oh 30" Cinema display, let me count the ways. Oops, I almost forgot a company that isn't hell bent on ruling the world! MS is the demigod of mediocrity. Try Tiger... It will F&%$ing blow you away!
You are forgiven my son. Now say three hail Steve jobs and two Paul Allens.

dead horse.

I was reading this book written by Monks that says if you beat a dead horse a certain way, it will come back to life and eat your brains.

They also advocated eating these psylociben mushrooms at least 6 times a day.

C'mon now mac guys, you know the pc will support DVCPROHD come 4th quarter if not earlier, why wouldn't it.

Blonde, problem is, I am editing DVCPro HD since more than a year already on my Mac. That makes for far more money than a Mac is said to be more expensive (your words, not mine) and then again you have to build your on PC to spare some money. Take that time into account, I earn money meanwhile again...

And while MS ist still behind schedule with Longhorn, my Mac already outperforms XP by far. I have no time to play games on my Mac, no time for fiddling with an unfit system. Mine is working and earning money. Your thing may be cheaper by numbers, but then it costs.
Bottomline: Your accounting method needs some updating. :-))

Thorton, so you're telling me you can't build a pc as well as be a film maker at the same time? f.y.i. it's called multi-tasking my friend, or has that lazy, let the mac do everything for you mentality slipped into your way of living as well? Sad.

You are a bit outdated sir, you can run dual amd 64s and there is a win64 available as well......as for the 30" display, little article here from pc mag:
Based on our observations, the target audience will be disappointed with the panel's performance. We noticed significant hue changes—especially with dark shades—with horizontal viewing angles as small as 45 degrees off center in the horizontal plane. Given the large size of the monitor, you have to be at a considerable distance from the display to see the entire image at a direct angle. The monitor is rated at a 16-ms pixel response rate, and showed moderate smearing with moving images. This is to be expected from a panel with this specification, but it's not close to the clarity of CRT performance for rendering moving images.
And politics, well this site isn't intended for politics and is actually outlawed bud.

Blonde,
Laziness is the luxury of the wealthy people.
Ya know, we earn that much money with our Macs that we can pay staff to do such sub-ordinate things. While you have to build and fix your computer, we relax. Ah, what a beautiful life!
Sad for you. Something went wrong at your end....!!

Hi there, on the two slot reader, it mounts from the back and thus you will be inserting from the back of the machine. If that is not a problem for you and yes it does seem like it would save a lot of money and most likely would work.

Best,

Jan

Jan,
I suppose the hope is that an enterprising comp. hardware company will update the design
for a front-slot dual cardbus16 adapter to support cardbus32... Much like this one:

So far I have only found cardbus16 front load versions and not a cardbus32 version..
only takes time.

P.S. Sorry to tell you mac guys but, even an amd64 3500 with a radeon x850xt video card burns the new g5 duals by far, and that's not even a dual processor machine. Mac's are just pathetic "artsy" machines that truly have hardly any power behind em, all marketing, all show, no go.

Mr.Blonde:

Noone here wishes to have a my computer v. your computer chat. We were all
here happily discussing that a software should be made available for Mac, then you
come in and disrupt it with inflamatory remarks about our personal choice in a
computer product and there's just no reason for it.

Be aware you may be considered a troll for all intents and purposes in this thread.
What is an internet troll, you may ask?

Definition: An Internet troll is either a person who sends messages on the
Internet hoping to entice other users into angry or fruitless responses, or a message
sent with such content. (provided by Wikipedia.org)

You are creating a climate of confrontation and criticism, and if you make a habit of
pushing people's buttons, you have to accept the consequences.

wells lol....I made one comment and four of you blew up on me...I have the right to retaliate my friend. As for the direction of this thread, yes I agree with you, it is quite off topic, lets continue with the subject at hand.

Considered one? He is one.

And no Mr Blonde, I'm not a Mac owner, so you can't say I'm just a disgruntled Apple user.

Again, no matter what stage of life I'm at, I hope I never get to the sorry, empty, worthless state of giving a **** about what anyone else uses.

Oh, and let me just call you all my friend so I can seem calm and collected and appear as if I wasn't purposefully trying to start a flame war. After all, I only made one comment and four of you blew up on me. I guess what I'm saying is, you should believe I'm too incredibly stupid to have possibly known that anyone would be bothered by my comment.

Mr. Blonde you are no troll, I understand you are just poking.

thisiswells, you are out of line.

@all- I'm sure there will be a more cost effective solution for the desktop. I thought the 5 card reader had some raid (or at least volume set) capability.
